Over the past week, the situation around the village of Kamianske has significantly deteriorated. The enemy has achieved success in advancing, breaking through the defenses in the center of the settlement and attempting to consolidate its position in its northern part. The enemy is also accumulating forces in the southwestern part of the village. At the same time, the Defense Forces have been able to more effectively target Russian assault groups in the southeastern part of the settlement.

The enemy’s buildup in this area had been observed in advance. Despite this, the enemy managed to break through the defensive lines of Ukrainian troops and enter the center of the village. The past week has been marked by active pressure from the occupiers, who have been seizing positions held by Ukrainian fighters.
It is worth noting that the enemy’s activity was noticeable here earlier as well — they were probing for weak points, conducting assaults with small infantry groups. However, recently, this activity has significantly intensified and become more acute.

The enemy’s objectives and terrain features
Regarding the objectives of Russian forces in this area, they are considered to have limited prospects in Kamianske itself. Even capturing the heights beyond the village would not yield significant strategic advantages. The terrain features significant elevation changes, which pose a serious challenge for infantry, especially under conditions of active drone operations.
Primarily, Russia is employing its most common tactic — advancing where it finds a weak point and capitalizing on that success. Speaking of broader plans, these involve reducing the distance to the city of Zaporizhzhia, though this distance remains quite significant for now.
The Defense Forces are striving to inflict maximum damage on the enemy in this area. This is a good opportunity in this terrain, and Ukrainian pilots are actively taking advantage of it. The key is to ensure the necessary equipment is provided. The map of the Kamianske area will be updated in accordance with the changes.
