Russia Is Exploiting Another Fake Story to Undermine the Credibility of Ukraine

Today, on May 30th, the Russian propagandist mass media have launched another fake narrative with the purpose to undermine the credibility of Ukraine. They allegedly refer to the US mass media claiming that “the foreign mercenaries are leaving Ukraine because of lack of arms and advise other combatants not to fight against the Russian Army”.

The Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine explained the reasons behind this new fake story.

According to the Center’s officers, the Russian mass media are dramatically losing the credibility even among the domestic Russian audience, which is clearly indicated by the recent survey results: before the war, every fourth citizen of Russia trusted TV news channels, while now tis number has reduced to only one person in five.

“In order to boost the credibility ratings, the propagandists are using the new tactics and often refer to the well-known foreign media, but never leave a link to the original article, so the “brain-washed” Russian population cannot discover the truth”, the Center’s experts explained.
