Russia prepares massive attacks with jet-powered drones: Fedorov warns of new threat to Ukraine

Russia is preparing to use jet-powered «Shaheds, ” and Ukraine is already adjusting its tactics.

This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov during the national telethon on July 28.

He stated that Russia is actively implementing new technologies for «Shahed"-type kamikaze drones that enable them to better evade Ukrainian interception systems. In response, Ukraine is adapting its countermeasures on a daily basis.

Fedorov compared the development of drone warfare to a blitz chess game, where each side is forced to rapidly respond to the moves of the opponent. According to him, drone warfare is evolving extremely quickly — tactics change almost daily, and new technologies are being introduced in real time.

«We are constantly updating our tactics because the enemy is not standing still — they are improving their drones. New capabilities are already being implemented that allow „Shaheds“ to more effectively avoid our interception tools, ” the minister emphasized.

Fedorov pointed out that the effectiveness of drone interception depends heavily on weather conditions and a number of other factors.

«Russia will definitely move toward using jet-powered drones. We are already preparing for this threat, ” he noted.

Currently, Ukraine has signed contracts with at least four companies specializing in the development of advanced drone interceptors.

«We have breakthrough developments that would have taken years to create not long ago — and we’re already putting them into production. The next step is scaling up, ” Fedorov concluded.
