Russia preparing new large-scale strikes and terror attacks: When and what Ukrainians can expect

An expert says the enemy will seek to offset battlefield setbacks by increasing terror against civilians.

Russia is not planning to abandon its harsh strategy of pressure on Ukraine’s rear regions. During the spring-summer campaign, the enemy will continue large-scale air strikes, while also stepping up subversive activity within the country.

This was explained by military-political analyst of the “Information Resistance” group, Oleksandr Kovalenko.

Ukrainians should not expect long pauses in air raid alerts. According to the expert, kamikaze drone strikes and massive missile attacks remain a core component of Russia’s military strategy. The occupiers aim to wear down Ukraine’s air defenses and sow panic among civilians.

“Missile and drone terror will not stop. Russia will continue it because it is a key part of its strategy to pressure Ukraine’s rear regions. They will not abandon this tactic and will continue to follow it,” Kovalenko stressed.

Invisible front: sabotage, agents and PSYOPs

Beyond overt aerial terror, the Kremlin will place heavy emphasis on destabilizing Ukraine from within. The enemy will try to strike from behind using covert warfare methods.

The analyst warns that Russia will activate its agent networks. The threat of subversive activity in rear regions remains high, including recruiting individuals for attacks and sabotage on critical infrastructure.

The information front remains equally dangerous.

“Constant information and psychological operations aimed at discrediting the Ukrainian Armed Forces, spreading fake reports of heavy losses and defeats, will continue,” the expert said.

The analyst notes a clear pattern in the aggressor’s actions: terror against civilian cities directly depends on the successes or failures of the Russian army on the front line. The occupiers scale up attacks on the rear precisely when their plans at the front collapse.

“The bigger the problems the Russians face directly in the combat zone, the more actively they try to compensate with terror in Ukraine’s rear and pressure on civilians,” Kovalenko concluded.
