Russia continues to increase its offensive efforts, particularly in the territories of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. The Kremlin has set the goal of controlling these regions, despite Ukraine's resistance.

This was stated by Vadym Skibitsky, Deputy Chief of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

"They have clearly defined for themselves the most critical and relevant directions of combat operations. First of all, this is the Pokrovsk direction, Toretsk, and Chasiv Yar, to complete all the operations they have planned. In addition, this is Kupiansk. We know the plans set by the Russian Federation, including the possibility of conducting assault and offensive actions in both Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions," he said.

Skibitsky confirmed that the threat of offensive actions from Russia remains high. According to him, the Kremlin has repeatedly stated that Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions have become part of Russia, as outlined in its constitution. Russian representatives claim they will make every effort to keep these territories under their control.

"The threat remains. The Kremlin’s goal is to hold onto these regions," Skibitsky said.

He also pointed out that the situation in Dnipropetrovsk region could escalate. If Russia succeeds in its plans regarding the borders of this region, the risk of assault and reconnaissance operations increases. This could reduce the effectiveness of the enemy’s artillery and multiple rocket launcher systems in striking Ukrainian infrastructure.
