On Monday, October 31st, the Russian army attacked ten regions of Ukraine with drones and missiles. Eighteen facilities, most of which belong to the energy system, sustained damage, according to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

Hundreds of towns and cities in seven regions are experiencing blackouts as a result of attack. Local emergency power outages continue in Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro and Kharkiv Regions. According to Shmyhal, the emergency repair teams are working at full potential.

The government leader stressed that Russia primary targeted not military facilities, but rather critical civilian infrastructure.

"The consequences could have been much worse. However, thanks to heroic and professional operation of our air defence units, 44 of 50 missile fired were shot down. Thanks to our military protecting our skies”, the Prime Minister noted.
