Military expert Oleh Zhdanov commented on the situation with the neutralization of Russian invaders who opened fire at the Ukrainian Armed Forces while surrendering. He believes that this may be an information and psychological special operation by Russia so that the invaders would not surrender, as he said in a video posted on his YouTube channel.

"It's more like the informational and psychological operation. There is a video explaining the Geneva Convention requirements as to when a soldier is considered a prisoner of war and when you can open fire. Another nuance is that there are at least two footages, but neither of them of them records the moment when these prisoners are actually shot. It can only be Russian informational and psychological operation launched because way too many Russian soldiers surrender and it becomes a problem for the Russian army. So they might have released a staged videos to discredit the AFU. There are frames with dead bodies of Russian soldiers, but the question is who killed them. Russia is a monster at creating fakes and airing them. The Russian Federation does not consider mass murders of Ukrainians to be terrorism, they do not talk about it at the UN meetings. The video does not show the shooting of these prisoners. If that's what really happened, let them release the full video. In my opinion, Russia simply wants to stop the mass surrender of its military to Ukrainian forces," Zhdanov said.
