As of May 9, due to constant Russian shelling, two hydroelectric power stations (HPP) have been taken out of operation.
This is reported by Ukrhydroenergo.
"On May 8, during the morning shelling of critical infrastructure, significant damage was also inflicted on hydropower facilities. The enemy continues to attack and destroy Ukraine's energy infrastructure massively, delivering devastating targeted strikes. Currently, support, assistance, and decisive actions from the international community are more crucial than ever," the institution stated.
According to Ukrhydroenergo, the entire hydropower generation has suffered devastating damage, due to the Russian attacks.
The destroyed equipment requires significant efforts and considerable financial resources for repair and restoration.
How this will affect the electricity supply is currently unknown.
