Russian offensive on Pokrovsk: have Russian forces approached the city?

Currently, the Russian occupiers are focusing their main efforts on the Pokrovsk direction. Just yesterday, Ukrainian forces repelled 38 enemy attacks. However, Russia has not been able to advance closer to Pokrovsk.

This was stated by Spokesman for the Operational-Strategic Grouping of Troops "Khortytsia," Viktor Trehubov.

He says that the Pokrovsk direction has remained one of the most intense in recent weeks.

"This is the point where the enemy is concentrating its main efforts and also a key defensive line for Ukrainian defenders. However, the enemy has not directly approached the city itself, but is instead trying to encircle this area from the flanks," Trehubov said.

The main attacks have been in the surrounding villages. The occupiers are trying to disrupt the communication of the Ukrainian Armed Forces without engaging in direct combat in the city. This is how they aim to gain a tactical advantage. However, so far, the invaders have been unsuccessful, "as the city is defended by qualified and experienced Ukrainian units."

Meanwhile, there has been no advance of Russian forces in the Chasiv Yar area, although the situation remains intense. The situation in Kurakhove is more complicated, as it is one of the hottest areas, where intense urban fighting continues.
