The main threat to the region comes from the southern direction.

The Russian army could enter the territory of Dnipropetrovsk region in 2025. However, the occupiers lack the capability for deep penetration.

This was stated by military expert, reserve colonel Roman Svitan, in an interview with "Glavred."

According to him, the primary threat to the region comes from the southern direction - specifically the Vremivka ledge. The distance from this area to Dnipropetrovsk region is less than 10 kilometers, making it a potentially dangerous area. However, for the occupiers to enter Dnipropetrovsk region, they would need to significantly increase their forces.

"From the south, the Russians can currently create serious problems for us, particularly around the Vremivka ledge. But for this, the enemy would have to make significant efforts. They would need to transfer approximately the same force currently there - about 30-40 thousand troops," Svitan said.

The expert believes that with an increased force, the Russians may only manage to touch Dnipropetrovsk region, but not occupy it or begin a full-scale invasion. Svitan argues that the main goal of the Russian army would be to push Ukrainian troops out of the garrisons at Novosilka and Velyka Novosilka, as well as Kurakhove and Pokrovsk, rather than capturing the entire area.

"The enemy has the ability to enter Dnipropetrovsk region, but they lack the capability for deep penetration. I don't think Dnipropetrovsk region, and especially the city of Dnipro, will face any significant threat in 2025," Roman Svitan added.
