Russian-Speaking Citizens of Ukraine Claim They’ve Never Faced Language-Based Discrimination: Survey Results
Around 93% of the Russian-speaking citizens of Ukraine claim that they’ve never faced discrimination on the language basis.
In the survey conducted on May 19th – 24th by the Kyiv International Social Science Institute, the Russian-speaking Ukrainians and ethnic Russians residing in Ukraine say that the Russian statements about discrimination and “Nazis” in Ukraine are nothing, but a Russian fake.
"At least 85% of respondents (i.e. 85% of the ethnic Russians and 90% of the Russian-speaking Ukrainians believe that the Russian-speaking population of Ukraine does not face any discrimination, that Ukraine has a long history of nation-building and statesmanship (rather than being an “artificial” creation of the Soviet government), and that the western countries has never provoked Ukraine to fight against Russia”, the survey authors report.
The respondents also believe that Russia has started the aggressive and unjustified war against Ukraine with the excuse of “protection of the Russian-speaking population and fighting the bogus Nazi groups”. The consensus opinion among the respondents is that the Russians deliberately kill Ukrainian citizens and destroy civilian infrastructure.
