Russian troops are attempting to enter Sumy region: State Border Guard Service highlights the danger

Russian army is attempting to infiltrate Ukraine through the Sumy region. To do this, the occupiers are using various tactics, including deploying assault troops and sabotage groups.

This was reported by Spokesman of the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, on the air of the telethon.

According to him, in the direction of the settlements of Novenke, Zhuravka, and Basivka, the occupiers are using small assault groups to concentrate their forces in Ukraine and expand the combat zone. This section of the border directly relates to the Kursk region, Demchenko emphasized.

"In the direction of Novenke and Zhuravka, the enemy is deploying small assault groups, which are destroyed by the Ukrainian military either on the approach to the border or on Ukrainian territory if the occupiers manage to enter," the spokesman of the State Border Guard Service reported.

Additionally, active attempts by enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups to infiltrate continue in the northern part of the Sumy region. At the same time, for other sections of the border with Russia in this region, there is a risk of sabotage and reconnaissance groups infiltration. One of them was discovered on the approach to the border, in the Sumy district. However, Demchenko clarifies that this is a different section, unrelated to the events in the Kursk region.

Demchenko states that the tasks of the Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups differ from the assault groups operating near the Kursk border. Sabotage groups aim to uncover the positions of Ukraine's Defense Forces or strike the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with their own forces, or mine the area.
