In the Russia-controlled city of Kherson, the enemy soldiers have set up an improvised torture prison in the basement of a juvenile reception center. Around 60-70 Kherson residents are reported to be kept at the facility, as Stanislav Troshyn, the Head of Kherson District Council, said in his interview for Espresso.
"We receive different reports about what’s going on in that building. The people are held hostage here. Since February 24th, we have received over 560 missing person reports, and over 60 prisoners are reported to be kept at the juvenile reception center. There many people in that basement ", he said.
According to the official, one of the prisoners kept in the torture basement is abducted Mayor of Kherson Ihor Kolykhaiev. "We have direct eyewitness accounts of people released from that prison”, Troshyn stressed.
According to him, Ukrainian activists, former AFU servicemen and ATO veterans are kept in the torture prison in the terrible conditions.
"They consistently attempt to beat the testimony out of prisoner. People who are released from there have their ribs, arms and legs broken. This is a mini-version of infamous Isolation prison in Donetsk. It’s hard to imagine anything like that in the 21st century”, the Deputy Head of Kherson District Council stressed.
