The security agreement between Ukraine and the United States encompasses not only military cooperation but also economic support, sanctions policy and the use of frozen Russian assets.

Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, announced this on the air of the telethon on June 14.

"First of all, the agreement with the United States has completed the entire “G7,” and today we have security agreements with all G7 countries. This is a historic agreement, the first powerful one with a substantive and historically binding section between Ukraine and the US in our entire history of independence. It has become an epochal event, and yesterday there was a very solemn signing ceremony between the two presidents," Yermak said.

He stresses that the security agreement is "not just about wartime." According to Yermak, the US and Ukraine have de jure become allies for the present and the future, meaning post-war as well. The US commits to supporting Ukraine throughout this period.

"It addresses all the necessary elements important for our defense capabilities and our joint production. It very precisely outlines aspects related to air defense systems and fighter jets," the Head of the Presidential Office said.

"But the agreement is not only about military cooperation. It also concerns the support of Ukraine's economy. It involves sanctions policy and the use of frozen Russian assets, which are crucial for Ukraine today and during recovery," Yermak highlighted.

He also recalled the recent "historic decision" regarding the frozen $50 billion in Russian assets that Ukraine will be able to use.

According to the Head of the Presidential Office, the security agreement is "very substantive and very detailed." He reiterated that it included a very specific and detailed legally binding section.

"Therefore, without exaggeration, this is a historic event. We have de jure confirmed that we are partners and allies with the United States," Yermak concluded.
