The situation in Vuhledar is one of the most difficult in the last few days.

The Russian army is conducting flanking maneuvers from the west and east — from Vodyane and Prechystivka — in the area of Vuhledar in Donetsk region. The situation in the city is currently very tough, although the occupiers have tried to encircle it before.
This was reported by Serhiy Zgurets, director of the information and consulting company Defense Express, during a broadcast on "Espreso."
"Yesterday evening, we received information that separate groups of Russian fighters entered Vuhledar from the east. So, the dynamics are not in our favor, but we will see how events unfold. I don’t think it’s about encirclement. It’s about the Armed Forces of Ukraine defending this area," Zgurets said.
For over two and a half years, this section of the front has been held by the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians. Currently, the enemy is destroying Vuhledar, which is situated on an elevated terrain. According to the expert, this is one of the few sections of the front where there is a height advantage, along with mining, industrial, and high-rise buildings.
"This allowed us, for a significant time, to use the advantage of elevation and support from artillery and anti-tank means to hold back frontal attacks from the enemy, which were complicated by the need to cross the Kashlahach River flowing north of this settlement," Zgurets explained.
