Situation in Kherson Region: Invaders Coerce Locals and Speed Up Satellite Pseudo-Republic Creation

Currently, the invaders have focused their efforts on preparation of the upcoming events, according to Liudmyla Denisova, the Commissioner for Human Rights in Ukraine. 

"The date of this fake expression of the people’s will was postponed to April 27th. Immediately after creation of so-called Kherson People’s Republic, the invaders are going to start the involuntary mobilization of male population for the war against Ukraine”, Denisova stated. 

Meanwhile, according to her, the Russian troops have focused their efforts on termination of any humanitarian support provided to the region by the government of Ukraine”. 

"In Zolota Balka village, Kherson Region, the representatives of Russian invasion forces conducted a meeting with local population, where the invaders announced that there would be no more “green corridors”, and the people were banned from leaving their communities”, she said. 

Now the Russian troops are breaking into the local houses with illegal search warrants.

Based on the data disclosed by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the Russian invaders are planning to proceed with involuntary military recruitment in the temporarily occupied districts of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. The likely purpose of the fake referendums arranged in the temporarily occupied area will be involuntary mobilization of male Ukrainian population with the intention to send the new “recruits” to the active combat zone and force them to assault Ukrainian positions at gunpoint. 

Previously, Oleksii Arestovych emphasized that the Armed Forces of Ukraine would not assault the temporarily occupied city of Kherson.

"No one will be assaulting Kherson. We will simply surround the city and cut off the Russian supply routes, if required”, he elaborated.
