Polish carriers have postponed the beginning of the blockade of freight transport at three checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish border from November 3rd to November 6th.

This was reported by the head of the International Transport Association of Ukraine, Ihor Overko, with reference to one of the organizers of the protest near the "Krakivets-Korchova" border checkpoint, Tomasz Borkowski.

The blockade will start at 13:00 Kiev time on November 6. The protest organizers have received official permission from local authorities to hold it until January 3, 2024, the report says.

The blockade of freight transport will be organized at three border crossing points:

- "Yagodin-Dorohusk"

- "Krakivets-Korchova"

- "Rava-Ruska-Hrebenne"

What the protest organizers demand

One of the demands of the protesters concerns the return to the practice of issuing permits for Ukrainian freight carriers and reducing their number from the pre-war level, when up to 200,000 permits were issued per year.

Moreover, carriers want empty Polish trucks returning from Ukraine to Poland to cross the border without waiting in line, instead of waiting 10-12 days.

The carriers are also demanding stronger regulations for transportation under the European Conference of Ministers of Transport (ECMT) certificate.
