During the blockade and occupation of Mariupol, the Russians destroyed 50% of the city's high-rise buildings, that is 934 buildings.

This is reported by the Mariupol City Council.

"They have already demolished 465 of them themselves. More than 52,000 apartments of Mariupol residents have been destroyed. Despite their promises, the occupiers provide housing only to military personnel, construction workers and visitors from Russia. That is, the enemy is trying to russify the city, realizing that soon the Armed Forces of Ukraine will liberate our Ukrainian Mariupol," - Mayor Vadym Boychenko said.

"The construction of housing for Mariupol residents in the city has been stopped. The occupiers claim a lack of funding and are solely engaged in clearing sites for mortgage construction. But the mortgage is designed exclusively for the Russians themselves, while the indigenous population of Mariupol is being evicted outside the city borders.
