The Russian army holds a substantial advantage over Ukrainian forces in both electronic warfare (EW) and drone capabilities.
Dmytro Kozhubenko, Major of the National Guard, an officer in the planning section of the "Rubizh" Brigade, discussed this situation during an interview with "KYIV24."
"They are trying to advance, but as far as I know, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are doing everything possible to prevent them from crossing the canal near Chasiv Yar. The enemy is throwing substantial forces into this maneuver, which would allow them to develop their offensive further. The canal is one of the obstacles they need to overcome," Kozhubenko commented on reports that the Russians are active near the canal around Chasiv Yar.
He confirmed that the enemy had made attempts, but Ukrainian forces repelled them.
"So far, the situation remains stable but extremely difficult because the enemy is concentrating significant forces in the Lyman-Bakhmut direction and beyond. Unfortunately, the enemy has a large number of reserves and "assault troops" to carry out their plans, as they are not counting their losses. There are many examples of this," said the officer.
