The U.S. government's decision to withdraw from Afghanistan once triggered a chain of serious crises, including an internal American one. And if the U.S. allows Russia to capture Ukraine, the Western audience will respond even more harshly.
This opinion was expressed by Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President, Mykhailo Podolyak.
"If Russia is allowed to achieve its goals in Ukraine during Trump's presidency, the Western audience will react even more harshly. After all, our resistance has become a symbol of the fight for freedom, democracy, international order, and guaranteed rules," Podolyak wrote on Telegram.
The advisor to the President’s Office complained that the interests of our allies are becoming less clear now, while earlier they were obvious: supporting Ukraine was meant to prevent further aggression near NATO borders and the growth of global instability.
"Today, American allies are demonstrating a strange interest in implementing the "Putin formula to humiliate the West." Denying Ukraine access to NATO, forcing territorial concessions without security guarantees is a risk not only to our sovereignty," Yermak's advisor says.
In Podolyak's view, this represents a threat to the global position of the United States, undermining trust in the White House in Asia, the Middle East, and among its closest European partners.
The advisor to the President’s Office highlights that Putin is escalating even after receiving signals from the United States about a willingness to make concessions.
"After President Trump’s statements, the number of airstrikes on Ukraine and "meat assaults" on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has sharply increased. This reminds us that the aggressor cannot be stopped without real pressure, from economic sanctions to large-scale arms supplies. Only this way can we achieve lasting peace and global dominance, if that remains the goal of the United States," Podolyak concluded.
