Russia can be forced to cease fire on fair terms by applying two effective tools: an oil embargo and a significant increase in strikes on Russian territory.
This opinion was expressed by Mykhailo Podolyak, Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, in a comment to "24 Kanal."
He emphasized that Ukraine needs a ceasefire on relatively fair terms in order to raise its demands for ending the war.
This can be achieved with two effective pressure tools on Russia. The first is economic, involving the strengthening of sanctions against Russian oil.
"An oil embargo will quickly nullify Russia's ability to receive situational revenues for financing not just the military block, but also recruitment programs, meaning they will need to rely on live forces. They fight with live forces," Podolyak explained.
The second tool involves significantly increasing missile and drone strikes on Russian territory.
According to Podolyak, the destruction of oil refining enterprises in the European part of Russia already significantly undermines the occupiers' logistical capabilities in supplying resources to the front lines.
