Russian Armed Forces are altering their air attack tactics, targeting Ukraine's energy sector using drones and missiles.
This was stated by military-political expert Dmytro Sniehyrov during a broadcast on FREEDОМ.
According to him, Russia's military doctrine includes preemptive strikes on the opponent's energy infrastructure "to force capitulation."
"In other words, the occupiers will strike Ukraine's energy infrastructure specifically during the heating season to pressure the Ukrainian political leadership into negotiations, and on Russian terms," Sniehyrov emphasized.
The expert recalled that the Kremlin's "führer," in his speech on September 30, 2022, highlighted that during World War II, the anti-Hitler allies also used carpet bombing tactics, targeting German cities like Cologne and Dresden.
"In 2022, the Russian dictator was already signaling to Western countries the possibility of strikes on civilians and civilian infrastructure in Ukrainian cities," Sniehyrov said.
Currently, the Russian occupiers are employing the so-called take-off approach to striking Ukraine's energy facilities. These attacks involve the use of UAVs as well as cruise and ballistic missiles.
"The latest massive Russian strike using UAVs on Ukrainian territory - over 100 drones - indicates that Russia will continue scaling up attacks, primarily targeting civilian facilities in our country," the military-political expert added.
