The Russians are pressing from all sides and setting fire to the forests: current situation in Chasiv Yar

The situation in Chasiv Yar remains dire. The Russian occupiers are trying to press from all sides and advance.

This information was shared by Ivan Petrychak, a representative of the press service of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo, on the "Espreso" TV channel.

"The situation in our area of responsibility has not changed critically over the past week. The enemy is trying to press from all sides and move forward. The defense forces are holding the front. The Russians continue to destroy civilian infrastructure, leveling Chasiv Yar with aerial bombs and artillery, trying to storm the city with groups and infantry. The situation remains difficult," Petrychak said.

He also added that mornings in Chasiv Yar in recent days begin with a thick band of smoke. The heat dries out the grass and trees, and the occupiers are setting them on fire.

"The heat is drying out the grass, forests and trees. The chaotic shelling by the Russians sets the grass on fire and burns fields. It is hard to breathe, the heat affects our senses, but the most troubling are the fires, which are very difficult to extinguish under shelling," Petrychak noted.
