Russia plans a simultaneous assault from the north, east and south.

After capturing the village of Vodiane near Vuhledar, the Russians have attempted to change their strategy by flanking the city. Previous frontal assaults were unsuccessful and resulted in heavy losses.

Military expert Oleksandr Kovalenko, coordinator of the "Information Resistance" group, shared this in an interview with "Focus".

He notes that over the past two years, the Russian command has twice inflicted heavy losses on the 155th Naval Infantry Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces due to direct frontal attacks on Vuhledar from the south. Now, the enemy is altering its tactics, trying to flank the city from the east and aiming to reach highway 0532, the "Maryinka – Vuhledar" route. Since this road is already under Russian control, they are planning a new assault on the city from the north, east and south simultaneously.

According to Kovalenko, defending Vuhledar under these conditions could become extremely difficult, especially if Russian forces advance westward from Vodiane, which is situated north of the city. However, the expert emphasizes that a complete encirclement of Vuhledar is still far from being achieved.

"The Russian Armed Forces are creating favorable conditions for encircling the city, and a process that could take up to two months," the expert says.
