The decision of the Western countries to allow attacking Russian territory with long-range missiles had to remain undisclosed in order not to give the enemy an opportunity to prepare.

This opinion was shared by Maksym Zhorin, Deputy Commander of the 3rd Assault Brigade, on Telegram.

He emphasizes that one of the key factors for the success of any operation is its unpredictability for the enemy.

"Permission for Ukraine to strike Russian territory with Western weapons should have been a surprise for the enemy. Yet, as usual, we are publicly discussing it - just like the counteroffensive and many other matters that should not be disclosed. This gives the enemy ample time to prepare," Zhorin stated.

Despite this, the deputy commander views the permission to strike deep into Russian territory as a positive development.

"It's good that it was allowed at all. It's bad that it came late and with restrictions. Even worse, it was announced to everyone," the military official added.
