There are two cities for which the occupiers will fight to the last: the expert named them
As for Bakhmut, the former SSU employee speaks very cautiously, saying that the situation is changing.
Bakhmut and Avdiivka are key cities chosen by the Russian army. In the coming weeks, they will become "the number one perspective" for the enemy.
This opinion was expressed by Ivan Stupak, an employee of the SSU (2004-2015), a consultant to the Committee on National Security and Defense of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, during a telethon on Monday, March 27.
As for Bakhmut, he very cautiously says that the situation is changing for the better for Ukraine.
"On the Bakhmut direction, the Russians are moving. If you look at the map, they have chosen two key points that are a priority for them - Bakhmut and Avdiivka. They even have a similar situation. Both of these cities are approaching encirclement and the Russians do everything for this. But we say with great caution that the situation there can be characterized as a certain plateau. At least in Bakhmut, the Russians can no longer move as actively as they did a month ago, but they are not retreating yet. That is the forces are really running out, but we must be careful about this, because there may indeed be reserves and additional mobilized forces somewhere."
I think that the Russians have redirected their efforts to Avdiivka, and they are also having some success there. These two cities will be their number one prospect in the coming weeks," he said.
