Ukrainian forces taking countermeasures: Situation near Dobropillia

The situation around Dobropillia in Donetsk region will become clearer by the end of the week. Countermeasures will not be disclosed so as not to cause harm.

This opinion was voiced on Ukrainian Radio by Ivan Tymochko, Head of the Council of Reservists of Ukraine’s Ground Forces.

«Yes, there is a challenge that must be addressed, ” Tymochko stressed.

He notes that Ukrainian troops have not given up and are not chasing political ratings. The officer reminds that fighting in Donetsk region has been ongoing for three years, and withdrawals of the Ukrainian army are often not due to a lack of forces.

«It’s simply that the territory is so destroyed and zeroed in that it is impossible to fortify and hold it — unless we take huge losses, which is inappropriate. Reserves are involved there, countermeasures are being taken. The situation in this sector will become clearer roughly by the end of the week. Such situations do not arise in a single day. And the process of the enemy appearing somewhere along a road to a certain depth means it will take about the same time to stabilize the situation, especially if information appears in the public space about the enemy advancing, ” the officer adds.

Tymochko also adds that even after territories are liberated, Russia throws in massive forces to prove its ability to fight.
