On January 30, Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry summoned Slovak Ambassador Pavel Vizdal. The diplomat was presented with Ukraine’s "strong rejection" of Bratislava’s claims that Ukraine is allegedly interfering in Slovakia’s internal affairs.
This was reported by the Ministry's press service.
During the meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister Oleksandr Mishchenko conveyed "deep disappointment" over Prime Minister Robert Fico’s position, stating that he is currently acting as "a mouthpiece for the Kremlin."
The Foreign Ministry notes that such actions harm bilateral relations and undermine the unity of the European Union and the Euro-Atlantic community in countering Russia.
Ukraine also condemned the Fico government’s attempts to maintain dependence on Russian energy supplies, calling them unacceptable.
"Official Bratislava has been urged to abandon such practices and return to constructive dialogue and the development of good-neighborly relations between our countries and peoples," the Ministry stated.
