President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasizes that Ukraine must follow its own policy and not allow anyone to make decisions behind its back.

The President made this statement during his speech on the occasion of Diplomat’s Day.

“We must pursue our policy and let no one decide anything behind Ukraine's back. Russia must be held accountable for this war. Sanctions against Russia must remain in effect as long as we need to keep pressure on Russia,” Zelenskyy stressed.

Additionally, according to the President, decisions have already been made regarding the use of frozen Russian assets to benefit Ukraine.

“But we need to go further - identify Russian assets that are not yet frozen, track the assets of all Russian war criminals and Putin's political allies. These funds in Russia are often acquired through corruption, meaning they can be blocked in many jurisdictions not only because of this disgraceful war but also due to their illicit origin,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

He added that efforts must continue to ensure Russian assets are used to support Ukraine's defense.
