China is in no hurry for one simple reason: it is crucial for them to see how this war ends. If it ends with Ukraine's victory, China's actions will be constrained.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated this in Kyiv at the presentation of the book "War and New Horizons."

"Regarding China, their strategy is very simple. China has its own significant historical matters. I'm afraid we in Ukraine don't understand China very well. I don’t claim to have a complete understanding either. But China is in no hurry for one simple reason: it is very important for them how this war ends. Because if it ends with Ukraine's victory, China's actions will be constrained. If this war ends not with Russia’s victory but, let's say, with Russia imposing its strategic initiative, that is, when they will be little by little to attack, and we fight back little by little, despite all the help we receive, then, on the contrary, it frees China's hands," the head of Ukraine's foreign ministry said.

According to Kuleba, China is currently assessing the West's real potential for action and is calculating everything very carefully.

"China is now a specific subject of official government studies. This is, in fact, what a country is capable of, defending against a much larger neighbor - a nuclear power. And, secondly, what the partners of such a country are capable of. So now, to put it briefly, they (China) are in a position of "we are for peace," "for everything good against everything bad." But this position has a much broader logic that will ultimately determine the fate of the world, without exaggeration," the minister concluded.
