"What Invaders Are Doing to Kharkiv Is a Shock for Entire Civilized World” – Syniehubov

Mr. Syniehubov, the Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, believes that Kremlin will never succeed in its ambition to capture the city. However, the civilian residents are still in a great danger.

Syniehubov shared these thoughts in his interview to Liga.net.

“For 42 days, we have defended Kharkiv and held our positions. Our Armed Forces are doing their best in order to prevent such scenario under any circumstances. What invaders are doing  to Kharkiv is a shock for the entire civilized world. This is the simple annihilation rather than “liberation”, which they declared as a purpose of their so-called “special military operation”. We realize that the enemy will never withdraw for no serious reason. However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine promptly intercept them. We are ready to keep our defense as long, as it’s necessary to drive the invaders away and force them to return where they came from. Our military forces demonstrate astonishingly high performance. I cannot say that all Kharkiv residents are safe now due to unpredicted artillery attacks by Russian troops, though. These strikes are not intended to destroy any military infrastructure facilities. They target only civilian population in order to brake the morale of our people”, the said.        

Nevertheless, Syniehubov is deeply convinced that Russia will inevitable loose the battle for the city.

“Nevertheless, we have to acknowledge that the battle for Kharkiv is already lost by Russians. They’ve suffered pretty high losses and now realize that they will suffer much more, if they deploy greater forces and simply attempt to advance into Kharkiv, not to even mention capturing the city. And this may be a big challenge for their further plans to advance in Donbas area. I don’t believe that they will attempt another major offensive in Kharkiv Region, however we are ready to respond to such scenario as well”, he added.
