Talks between U.S. President Joe Biden and China's leader Xi Jinping did not change Beijing's position regarding the war in Ukraine.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Nin said this during a press conference on Thursday, November 16.

According to her, China will continue to "remain committed to promoting peace and de-escalation negotiations."

"Indeed, the two presidents exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern, including the "crisis in Ukraine" (Russia's agression - ed.) and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict (the war between Hamas and Israel - ed.). China's position on both issues is clear and consistent. We stand for equality and justice and remain committed to promoting peace negotiations and de-escalation,” she emphasized.

She referred to the meeting of the two world leaders as “fruitful,” adding that more than 20 common agreements were reached during it. These agreements covered political, diplomatic, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges, global governance, military affairs, security, and other areas.
