What to expect if the US doesn't reach an agreement on aid for Ukraine: Kuleba responded

For Ukraine, the question of its existence as a state is at stake, so it will continue to fight with the resources it has, Dmytro Kuleba emphasized.

Ukraine will continue to resist, even if the US Congress does not agree on additional funding for its support.

This was stated by Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El Pais.

Kuleba urged not to allow this decision to be delayed until the situation at the front worsens due to the delay.

The Minister was asked what to expect if the US does not approve an additional $61 billion for military support to Ukraine.

"We will continue to fight with the resources we have. For the world, democracy, security, and prosperity are at stake. For Ukraine, it's a matter of the very existence as a state," he replied.

If they decide to suspend or delay the support now, then due to a lack of resources, Russia may start to gain success at the front and break through the lines, Kuleba noted.

"In that case, support will have to be reinstated because the public will actively advocate for aid to Ukraine. And those same politicians who decided to deny support will decide to provide it—but under more critical circumstances. So even from a rational, purely realistic political perspective, it makes more sense to provide assistance now to prevent a crisis in the future," he added.

The head of Ukraine's foreign policy department further stated, that he considers the approach of political forces in any state, that turn the issue of Russia's war against Ukraine into a subject of internal debates, shortsighted. This is because, in reality, it's not just a war against Ukraine but against the entire democratic world.

"If Russia gains the upper hand, if the political style of the Russian Federation becomes dominant - there will no longer be real elections and there will be no real democracy. This is clearly not what these politicians want. The defeat of Russia in Ukraine is in the best strategic interests of the states of Europe, America and other regions of the world. Ukraine should be a unifying topic, not a divisive one," Dmytro Kuleba concluded.
