After the Christmas shelling, the occupiers are likely to launch another massive strike closer to the New Year. Russia has reserves for two large-scale attacks.
This was stated by Oleksandr Musienko, Head of the Center for Military and Legal Studies, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
"I think they are preparing to carry out one (massive attack) closer to the New Year. Or even on New Year’s Eve. And the second one will be 7-10 days after the New Year," Musienko suggests.
The expert reminds that the aggressor not only has a military but also a political goal ahead of the inauguration of the newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump. Therefore, according to the expert, the frequency of Russian attacks on Ukraine will indeed be high.
"The enemy will use everything they have. Then the Russians may take a pause and resume strikes at the end of January or the beginning of February," Musienko says.
He also mentioned characteristic signs indicating the enemy’s preparation for possible massive shellings: intelligence information and signs related to aviation.
"In other words, aircraft are moving along the line to "Engels" or vice versa. You can notice it by the arrival of planes carrying missiles," Musienko said.
