The Pokrovsk direction remains "one of the bloodiest." It is quite likely that intense battles for the city of Pokrovsk will occur in the fall.
This opinion was expressed by a military analyst and former SSU officer Ivan Stupak, as reported by FREEDОМ.
"After the start of the Kursk operation, there has been a weakening of the Russian offensive in Donetsk region. However, this does not apply to Pokrovsk. The Pokrovsk direction remains one of the bloodiest. Russia's "meat grinder" assaults are ongoing there. A huge number of troops, equipment and various tactics and strategies are being used. An incredible amount of high-explosive aerial bombs are being used. The Russian army continues to strengthen in this direction," the expert said.
According to the analyst, the occupiers aim to split the Defense Forces in Donetsk region into two components - the northern and southern sectors.
"In classic military strategy, this would mean cutting the enemy's forces in half and "devouring" them in parts," Stupak suggested.
The expert does not rule out that the first serious battles for the city of Pokrovsk, which is approximately 15 kilometers away from the Russian army, could take place in the fall.
