Ukraine is working to change the opinion of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz regarding the transfer of long-range "Taurus" missiles.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a joint press conference with the German Chancellor in Kyiv today, December 2.

"About "Taurus". Olaf Scholz and I share many common views on certain issues, but we also have different opinions. We are working to have more common ground on the issue of Taurus," said the president.

Zelenskyy is confident that if Ukraine received "Taurus" missiles, it would be able to target more military objectives in Russia.

"Long-range weapons are a challenge for us. You’ve heard a lot about it. We have worked on the position of Germany, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom. How would this help us? We could target more military objectives in Russia," the President said.

At the same time, Zelenskyy noted that Germany is in first place among European countries in terms of the amount of support provided, and has also supplied the most air defense systems.

For his part, Olaf Scholz announced that in December, Ukraine will receive the sixth IRIS-T air defense system, Patriot launchers, and Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns from Germany.
