Zelenskyy made a statement about the situation in the Kharkiv direction and in Vovchansk

Thanks to the Defense Forces, "confidence has been bolstered" in the Kharkiv direction, particularly in Vovchansk.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this during his evening address on May 16.

"Now, thanks to our forces and our measures, we have managed to add confidence to the Vovchansk direction. But the Russian shelling continues, and there are threats. Today, in particular, the head of the Vovchansk administration was injured. Our counteroffensive actions continue - and they are ongoing in other areas near the Kharkiv border as well. We need to achieve more results in repelling assaults and destroying the occupiers," Zelenskyy said.

According to the President's statement, Russia is trying to expand the war, always accompanying it with empty words about peace.

"We must force Russia to a real, just peace by all means. Our defense against assaults and strikes is crucial. I thank everyone who does everything to ensure our state endures! I thank everyone in the world who helps!" he added.
