President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced plans to work with foreign partners in the coming months, which he called "a time of activity for the sake of Ukraine."

The Ukrainian leader made these remarks during his traditional evening address on Wednesday, April 3.

"Both May and June should become a time of activity for the sake of Ukraine, for the sake of achieving our goals in this war. We clearly understand what they are preparing for in Russia, what they want, what they will recruit soldiers for in their army. And we, all of us, our partners, must have a strong response to Russian operations – any Russian operations. We must win in this war," he emphasized.

Zelenskyy believes that Ukraine, together with its partners, has a "historic chance" to "break Russian revanchism", and this chance must be used "for the sake of reliable security for our children".

About international support of Ukraine

In this context, the President reported on a number of conversations he had with foreign leaders.

"The first one was with Prime Minister of Japan Kishida... Japan is among the global leaders in helping Ukraine and defending international law. I informed Prime Minister Kishida on the battlefield situation, its prospects, our needs, including everything that will help repel Russian assaults. It was a productive conversation. And following recent decisions by the Japanese government, Japan's overall support for Ukraine amounts to over $12 billion," Zelenskyy reported.

The President also spoke about a conversation with the new Prime Minister of Portugal. "We coordinated our work, including instructing our teams to begin preparing a security agreement between our countries. Of course, we will continue to implement existing agreements," he emphasized.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also reminded about his meeting with the new President of Finland, who made a visit to Kyiv today, during which another, the eighth security agreement for our country was signed.

"It is important to separately mention that Finland clearly understands the need for Ukraine's integration into the European Union and NATO. I am grateful for their readiness to help, to provide arguments in favor of Ukraine's invitation to NATO. Overall, we can say that the entire Finnish society, all political forces, equally understand the importance of our defense in this war for our entire region, for all of Europe," the Ukrainian leader emphasized.
