Twenty-four years ago, during military exercises, the Russian nuclear submarine "Kursk" sank. All 118 people on board died.

On the anniversary of the "Kursk tragedy" in Russia, the President of Ukraine pointed out the symbolism seen in Russian history.

The President spoke about this in his evening address on August 12.

"We see the real trajectory of Russia under Putin: 24 years ago, there was the "Kursk" catastrophe - the symbolic beginning of his rule, and now we see what his end will be. And again, it is Kursk. The catastrophe of his war," Zelenskyy said.

He added that this always happens to those who disregard people and any rules.

"Russia brought war to others, and now it is returning home. Ukraine has always wanted only peace, and we will certainly ensure it," he added.
