Ukraine has taken another significant step in strengthening its security and international support. During the NATO summit in Washington, a bilateral security guarantee agreement was signed between Ukraine and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
This was reported by the President's Office.
The document was signed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Luxembourg Luc Frieden.
The agreement recognizes that the security of Ukraine and all of Europe depends on achieving a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace that respects Ukraine's rights under international law and the UN Charter.
According to the agreement, Luxembourg will continue to provide military support to Ukraine in land, air, and cyber-electromagnetic domains. This includes long-term assistance in equipping and training Ukrainian military personnel, including within the framework of the EU Mission.
The parties will also work on strengthening Ukraine's defense industry and integrating it with NATO and EU standards. Luxembourg will explore opportunities to facilitate the integration of Ukraine's defense industry into the European defense technological base.
The countries will enhance cooperation in the fields of intelligence and security in accordance with the national legislation of each. The agreement also provides for increased collaboration in areas such as construction, metallurgy, cybersecurity, business consulting, finance, and the space sector.
The document places special emphasis on sanctions against Russia. Ukraine and Luxembourg will continue to work together to strengthen sanctions pressure on Russia. Luxembourg commits to supporting strict EU sanctions against the Russian economy and those who support the war or try to circumvent the sanctions.
