On Wednesday, April 26, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

The Head of the State announced this on Twitter.

Zelenskyy did not provide details of the conversation with the Head of the People's Republic of China. However, he called the dialogue long and meaningful.

"I had a long meaningful telephone conversation with President Xi Jinping. I believe that it, as well as the appointment of the Ambassador of Ukraine to China, will give a powerful impetus to the development of our bilateral relations," the Ukrainian President said in a post.

The conversation between the leaders of the two countries was also reported in Beijing. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China notes that the initiator was the Ukrainian side. According to the spokesman of the President of Ukraine Serhiy Nikiforov, the conversation lasted almost an hour.
