President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Russian strike on the recreation center in the Zaporizhzhia district had no military purpose whatsoever and was solely aimed at intimidating the civilian population.

According to him, at least 12 people were injured in the attack, and two more were killed. Rescuers and medics are working at the scene.

“My condolences to the families and loved ones. There is zero military purpose in this strike. Only cruelty, meant to intimidate,” the Head of State emphasized.

Zelenskyy also mentioned other strikes that Russia carried out over the past day: on power grids in the Dnipropetrovsk region, on civilians in Kherson, and on a gas station in Novosilske, Odesa region. Due to the latter strike, hundreds of families were left without gas supply.

“This was a deliberate strike against our preparations for the heating season — absolutely cynical, like every Russian attack on the energy sector,” the President stated.

According to him, strikes also occured in Kharkiv and Donetsk regions — targeting private homes of civilians.

The President stressed that only increased pressure on Russia can make the Kremlin seriously consider ending the war.

“Whatever the Kremlin says, they will only genuinely seek to end the war once they feel real pressure. And right now, it is crucial to strengthen all the tools available to the U.S., Europe, and the G7,” Zelenskyy added.

He thanked Ukraine’s partners for their political will and assistance, emphasizing that Kyiv is expecting concrete decisions.
