Russian drone and missile strikes hit Ukrainian region, sparking massive fires
Russian occupiers launched a massive combined strike on the Dnipropetrovsk region. The enemy attacked the warehouses of logistics companies with ballistics and drones, wounding civilians and rescuers.
The aftermath of the Russian strikes
Russian occupying troops launched another massive and treacherous combined strike on the Dnipropetrovsk region. The Dnipro district, the immediate suburbs of Dnipro, and the city of Pavlohrad came under the strike of enemy ballistic missiles and attack drones.
The enemy used a cynical tactic of repeated strikes on emergency services and deliberately destroyed civilian food and logistics hubs. A massive fire on civilian objects is still raging.
TSN correspondent Anastasiia Nevirna reports from the scene of the Russian terror.
War in Ukraine: Russia attacked the suburbs of Dnipro
The missile and drone attack on the Dnipro district began yesterday afternoon and lasted essentially until late at night. Russian occupiers directed their strike drones at civilian infrastructure in several consecutive waves — large food warehouses of a well-known retail chain and the premises of a national logistics company came under attack.
Immediately after the first powerful explosions, a gigantic column of black smoke rose into the sky, and the fire began rapidly engulfing more and more territory. However, rescuers had to battle the blaze under extreme and deadly conditions. The Russians staged a real hunt for the firefighters: new UAVs continuously flew into the exact same area for repeated strikes, forcing them to extinguish the fire with breaks for safety. When the threat from the sky receded a little, over a hundred rescuers and 40 units of special equipment worked simultaneously to eliminate the fire. Dramatic footage of the moment of the strike on the warehouses and the selfless work of the SES fighters has already appeared online. Dozens of units continue to fight the fire in the suburbs of Dnipro even now.
Despicable ballistic strike on rescuers: An interval of 40 minutes
Simultaneously with the drone raids, the Russian army fired heavy ballistic missiles at the Dnipropetrovsk region. The occupiers carried out two strikes on the exact same location with a calculated interval of 40 minutes. The enemy acted intentionally: the second missile struck just as medics, police, and emergency services arrived at the scene of the first strike to deal with the aftermath and rescue people.
Eight people were injured in this cynical double strike. As of the morning, seven victims remain hospitalized, with doctors assessing three of them as in serious condition.
Night terror of Pavlohrad: Hit on a five-story building
Closer to night, around 11:00 p.m., Pavlohrad also came under enemy strike. The Russians directed an attack drone straight into a residential quarter of the city. The enemy drone hit a residential five-story building, causing serious destruction and a fire.
The night strike in Pavlohrad injured two people: a 45-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman. Fortunately, doctors assess their injuries as non-life-threatening. The building was left mangled. In the courtyard, 4 cars burned to ashes, and another 4 vehicles were heavily damaged by shrapnel and the blast wave. A local enterprise and critical infrastructure objects in the city were also heavily battered. Emergency services and investigators are currently working at all strike locations.
