This was stated by DTEK CEO Maxym Timchenko in a video on the TED platform.

"War has taught us that by relying on renewable energy, we create a more sustainable and secure energy system," he said.

As an example, Timchenko mentioned wind turbines. Despite the fact that they weigh about 700 tons and have a length of 130 m, it is very difficult to hit them with a missile. In addition, even if the enemy manages to hit the turbine with a missile, the power plant will not stop, and the other turbines will continue to work.

"Such a distributed energy system combined with energy from household solar panels can significantly increase the energy security of countries worldwide. And not only during war, but also against a range of threats such as fires and floods," he emphasized.

Timchenko added that with the right level of foreign investment, Ukraine will be able to build enough green generation facilities by 2030 to supply Europe with the same amount of electricity as Finland.
