President Zelenskyy is reportedly ready for direct talks with Putin in Istanbul, Turkey. The key goal for Kyiv is securing a ceasefire to preserve human lives.
Chief of Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov said this in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.
According to the top military intelligence officer, President Zelenskyy’s desire to meet personally with the Kremlin leader to discuss a possible truce is absolutely the right decision. In doing so, the President demonstrates both a commitment and readiness to bring the war to an end, Budanov emphasized.
"We need an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire, first and foremost to save the lives of our people. I have no doubt that Volodymyr Zelenskyy is fully prepared for such a meeting, and with the support of our partners, we can achieve the desired result," the intelligence chief emphasized.
