There are divisions within the “coalition of the willing.” For now, the participants have only found a “basic platform” that allows different countries to join, but it does not demonstrate sufficient courage or determination for real action.

Former Ukrainian Ambassador to the U.S. Valeriy Chalyi gave this assessment of the European leaders’ meeting in Paris on the air of Svoboda Live.

He ironically remarked that “the willing become decisive only after the U.S. agrees to get involved.”

Chalyi noted that the main problem lies in the different approaches to the situation: while Russia, China, and North Korea continue waging war, “the coalition is considering how peace will be established.”

“This is a big mistake. The factors are not yet ripe for establishing peace,” Chalyi said.

He also added that the current agreements on “security guarantees” are not genuine, since they do not provide for full responsibility for protecting Ukraine in the event of renewed aggression.
