Putin allegedly ready for talks with Zelenskyy: NSDC exposes Kremlin’s true objective

Such Kremlin moves are aimed primarily at external geopolitical players, not the Ukrainian side.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated the alleged readiness of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin for negotiations with Volodymyr Zelenskyy. However, according to Moscow, such a meeting is possible only at the stage of finalizing agreements. In Ukraine, these statements were called a planned disinformation campaign.

Andriy Kovalenko, Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the NSDC, said this in a comment to 24 Kanal.

According to Kovalenko, Russia is trying to artificially create an impression for Donald Trump that Moscow wants peace, while Kyiv allegedly takes a destructive position. A separate recipient of these messages is China. Beijing remains a key ally of the Russian Federation, but there is a risk that it may start demanding a real end to hostilities from Moscow.

"Therefore, they are playing their game again: Putin is ready to meet, but Ukraine does not want peace. This is a lie. Putin is not ready to meet," the head of the CCD stressed.

He added that the Russians' key condition remains control over Donbas, which is unacceptable for Ukraine. Both the president and the head of the Office of the President clearly articulated: not a millimeter of Ukrainian land will be surrendered to the enemy.

Kovalenko emphasized that Putin deliberately continues hostilities, though he could stop them with a single decision. Instead, the Kremlin uses Peskov to craft propaganda statements tailored for Western audiences.

"Putin can only try to shift responsibility onto Ukraine, even though the international community understands the true source of the war," Kovalenko noted.

Enemy plans at the front

While Russian officials talk of negotiations, the occupying army prepares for escalation. According to the NSDC assessment, Russia plans to continue active assault operations through the spring and summer.

The enemy will concentrate its main efforts in the following areas:

- Eastern Ukraine (Donbas);

- Zaporizhzhia direction;

- Sumy and the Kharkiv regions (to stretch Ukrainian reserves).

Despite significant losses, the enemy continues to amass resources to pressure Ukrainian defenses. However, the National Security Council is confident: these occupation plans will fail and end in another defeat.
