The ministry responded with irony to Putin’s latest remarks about the war against Ukraine.
Putin claimed that Russia is supposedly seeing Ukrainian forces «losing positions on the front line» and that this is why Ukraine is allegedly «resorting to terrorism inside Russia.»
In response, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhii Tykhyi mocked the Kremlin’s rhetoric and recalled that Russia has been waging its war against Ukraine for more than four years without achieving its objectives.
«POV: you sound as if you’re about to win the war (for the fifth year already),» Tykhyi wrote.
He said Russia had lost 1.3 million troops in more than four years of war. Its slow advance has stalled, and the conflict is increasingly reaching Russian territory.
«REAL: you started an aggressive war trying to win fast; achieved no goals after losing 1,3 million men in over 4 years; your slow advances stall; the war returns to your territory,» Tykhyi said.
