Donald Trump’s administration currently offers no clear plan to end the Russia-Ukraine war.
Political science candidate Yevhen Mahda said this on the air of the KYIV24 TV channel.
He believes the United States lacks the political resolve to use effective economic and sanctions tools against Russia.
«In my view, the Trump administration has no clear plan for ending the war under American leadership, ” Mahda said.
The expert also criticized U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, who claimed the United States had effectively run out of sanctions options against Russia. Mahda said such assertions were «at the very least misleading.»
«The United States simply lacks political will, and this looks strange for a country that presents itself as the leader of the modern democratic world. There is no will to deliver strong economic blows to Russia, ” he added.
Mahda noted that Washington’s reluctance to ramp up sanctions against Russia undermines the broader strategy of deterring the aggressor and could extend the war.
