Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, commented on U.S. President Donald Trump’s position regarding a possible ceasefire in Ukraine.

He made the relevant statement on Telegram.

According to him, Ukraine agreed back on March 11 to the American proposal for a full, unconditional, and comprehensive ceasefire. During the meeting in Jeddah, the Ukrainian side reaffirmed its interest in ending the war through the real cessation of hostilities.

«A ceasefire must not be for show, but for a real and lasting peace,» Yermak emphasized.

He noted that Russia daily shells Ukraine, kills civilians, and simultaneously announces temporary ceasefires, which it then violates — as it did during Easter. The Kremlin’s proposal for a short-term ceasefire from May 8 to 11, according to Yermak, is just another attempt at manipulation.

The head of the Presidential Office also thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for his support and clear stance in favor of a full ceasefire.
